Out-of-State Licensing Resources

Completers of licensure programs at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign may seek to become licensed in another state.  Licensure requirements and the process to obtain licensure vary from state to state.  If you intend to practice and get licensed in any other state, there could be additional courses or assessment requirements unique to that state.  Consult the board/department of education website for your target state for information on requirements and how to proceed.

States may request a verification form be submitted as evidence of your completion of an approved licensure program in Illinois.  This form can be sent to the Council on Teacher Education for completion.

Not sure where to start?

Consult the Guide to Out-of-State Licensurefor advice to help you navigate the process of becoming licensed in another state.
