Welcome Professional Educator Licensure Candidates!

The state of Illinois, through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), offers professional educator licensure in many areas.  The Council on Teacher Education oversees all professional educator programs at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  All licensure programs have been approved and are in good standing with ISBE.  Your program is designed to meet all ISBE coursework and clinical experience requirements.  Additional requirements (i.e. required tests, assessments, trainings, etc. must also be successfully completed/passed in order for the University of Illinois to entitle you for licensure with the State Board of Education upon completing your program.  Here you will find specific resources and general information to guide you as you navigate your licensure program.  Information specific to your progress can be found by logging in to your student portal.
