Physical Education (PK - Grade 12)

 

Technology:  Strong emphasis is placed on educating prospective candidates in applying technology in the classroom.  Candidates learn to effectively incorporate technology such as heart rate monitors, pedometers, and other devices that support teachers in the delivery of effective instruction in Physical Education.

Multidisciplinary Inquiry:  Faculty members in Kinesiology frequently engage in scholarship with colleagues from different areas of study within the Department and across campus.  Prospective candidates learn from scholars in a wide variety of disciplines, helping to make them marketable and well-rounded educators.

Research Apprenticeships:  Internationally recognized for research and teaching, the Department of Kinesiology and Community Health is consistently among the highest ranked research institutions by professional organizations in the field.  Prospective candidates have opportunities to engage with faculty in labs, apprentice with experienced researchers, and co-author journal publications.
